Dr. Jennifer Bird was born and raised in Katy, Texas, and has always wanted to be an eye doctor. Her goal was to return to her hometown to serve friends and neighbors in the community. Dr. Bird and her husband opened Bird’s Eye View Optometry in 2012. After graduating from TaylorHigh School, she attended Texas State University where she majored in biology and minored in Chemistry. Dr. Bird received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College Of Optometry. After completing her didactic courses, Dr. Bird interned at the Navy Hospital in San Diego and at the Eye Center of Texas, a large group ophthalmology/optometry practice, here in Houston. Dr. Bird is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. 

In addition to Dr. Bird's continuing education, she is a participating member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and Harris County Optometric Society. Dr. Bird enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, Kate and Bodhi, when she is not at the office. She also enjoys entertaining friends and family. Dr. Bird enjoys fitting patients with bifocal contact lenses. Many patients wear over-the-counter reading glasses on top of wearing their contacts and Dr. Bird can fix this problem.

Dr. Marc Bird (the other doctor) married Dr. Jennifer Bird on November 14th 2009. Marc is not only her husband, but also her business partner. He is a professional engineer and like Dr. Bird received his doctorate (of philosophy) from the University of Houston in Materials Engineering. Marc is continuing his career as a materials scientist, for Baker Hughes Inc., where he is attempting to develop novel super abrasive materials for the oil gas industry. Aside from publishing fundamental research and normal home improvement duties, you may see Marc working out of Dr. Bird’s office, at the front desk or assisting Dr. Bird. Marc enjoys all spectator sports and running the various trails throughout Houston with his wife and daughter.

Angela Chu, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston, College of Optometry in 2014 and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2009.

Dr. Chu specializes in ocular diseases. Dr. Chu educates patients on their eye health and vision as part of the daily pursuit of her love for helping others. She believes that the best reward is meeting new people and making a difference in their lives.
In Dr. Chu’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, traveling, and exercising.  

Juddie Correos, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry magna cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2019, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a Minor in Japanese language, from Baylor University.

She completed her clinical rotations at Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas and Vision Source Mission Bend in Houston where she gained well-rounded experience from her training.  Dr. Correos is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist.

Combined with her interest in healthcare, Dr. Correos gained a passion for optometry and caring for patients while shadowing optometrists, going on optometric missions, and working as an optometric technician at a Waco private practice.

Most importantly, Dr. Correos says she especially enjoys meeting new patients and building strong relationships to provide them with the best vision and ocular health solutions possible.

Dr. Derek Le is a Houstonian, born and raised in Tanglewood. He attended Texas A&M University where he majored in Biology and minored in Psychology. Dr. Le went on to pursue his Doctorate of Optometry from the University Houston College of Optometry. During his optometric training, Dr. Le spent a year in clinical rotations at the Oklahoma Cherokee Nation Medical Clinic in Tahlequah, South TexasVeteran's Affairs Medical Center in San Antonio, and Hope CommunityClinic in Houston. 

Since graduating in 2018, Dr. Le has moved to Cinco Ranch and has developed a love for the city of Katy. Outside of the practice, Dr. Le is an avid tennis player and lawn-mower (but not at the same time.) Dr. Le enjoys spending time with his wife Constance, finding new culinary experiences, and communing with friends and family (all at the same time.)

Melissa Carcano is a true local, proud to be born and raised in Galveston, Texas. She received a full ride scholarship and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University in College Station and subsequently earned her Doctorate in Optometry from the University of Houston.

She is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist. Her optometric training includes clinical externship rotations in a variety of clinics in Texas including: San Jose Clinic in Houston, and Eye Center of Texas in Houston and a high volume private practice in League City, TX. Through her clinical education, Dr. Carcano observed and assisted in the treatment of many advanced and extreme eye diseases and conditions including the diagnosis and management of diabetic retinopathy, cataracts and glaucoma. 

After working for several years Dr. Carcano decided to move to League City in 2012 to be closer to her parents and extended family. She enjoys spending time with her children, Tucker and Penelope playing, watching movies and exploring all their hometown has to offer.

Ashley is the receptionist/doctor's assistant at our Tanglewood location. She is currently attending school for Sign Language Interpretation. Her hobbies include spending time with her BelgianMalinois, Kimber, kickboxing, fashion, and makeup.

Brianna has been with the practice since 2015. She is a graduate of Cinco Ranch High School and later went on to graduate from the University of Houston. She is one of our doctor’s assistants and will be conducting your preliminary tests. She pre-authorizes insurance claims and has spent many of hours addressing the insurance companies on behalf of our patients. Brianna also provides our office IT support. On her free time, she enjoys crafting such as costume designing and miniature clay making.

Jessica is our lead optician and frame buyer. She meets with frame representatives on a quarterly basis and is constantly updating our inventory. She moved to Katy in 2009 and is the loving wife to her husband and mommy to her two young sons. She went from selling diamonds to selling glasses and has been in the optical industry for over 7 years. Jessica truly enjoys frame styling and assisting patients in finding the best lens options to meet their prescription and lifestyle needs. Health and fitness is a passion for Jessica and when not at work, she is usually at her and her husbands martial arts gym, training kickboxing and jiu-jitsu.

Karla was born in Los Angeles but has lived in Houston since she was 8 years old. Karla is our bilingual doctor’s assistant, insurance liaison, and administrative assistant. Karla also helps with our involvement in the local Lion’s club. She is currently going to school for nursing and enjoys helping others. She has always wanted to be in the healthcare industry.

Stephany is our lead optician at our League City location. She has over five years of experience in the optical industry. Her favorite role as an optician is helping patients choose the best frame style for their facial structure, as well as their lifestyle needs. Outside of work you can find her playing sports with her kids or cooking for her family and friends.

Karen works in our League City office as a doctor's assistant and front desk liaison. She received her vocational degree in Ophthalmic Assisting and has worked for many years assisting ophthalmologists and optometrists. Before joining Bird's Eye View Optometry, Karen was also an ABO-certified optician. A native of Houston, Karen enjoys living and working on the Gulf Coast.

Arturo is one of our technicians that helps conduct preliminary testing for the doctor. He graduated from the University of Houston - Clear Lake with a Bachelors's in Biological Sciences and Pre-Health concentration. He is currently on a path to attending medical school and pursuing his goal of becoming a physician. Arturo enjoys working out and surfing for new shows to watch during his free time.
